Florendo Andres Mariano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 82 years old.
Born on June 27, 1943, in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Florendo lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and quiet strength. Throughout his years, he touched countless lives with his generosity, gentle humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His integrity, strong work ethic, and calm spirit set a lasting example for all who knew him.
Florendo proudly served in the Philippine Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also wore many professional hats, including that of a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines. After relocating to the United States, he worked for Otis Spunkmeyer in San Leandro, California, from which he retired at the age of 74.
Above all else, Florendo cherished his family. Erlinda was the only woman he ever loved, and together they built a life grounded in devotion and care. He loved his children—Grand Lloyd, Florainne (and husband Glowill), and Mark Anthony (and partner Arthur)—equally and uniquely, taking great pride in the people they became and in their many achievements. He also found deep joy in caring for and spending time with his grandchildren, Erianne Gayle and Andres Luis. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply being present, Florendo created a foundation of love that will continue to guide his family for generations.
A man of deep faith, Florendo was a longtime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in California and later Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Michigan, where he found comfort, community, and purpose.
He is survived by his younger siblings Franklin, Dominga, Villamor, Napoleon, Juanita, Andres Jr., and Noel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Magdalena Mariano, and his brother, Julian Mariano. His memory will remain forever in our hearts.
Family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary 7:00 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Instate Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford. A luncheon will follow at 12:00 PM for those who wish to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life.
