COLEMAN, EVELYN M. (née Murray), went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026, at 81 years of age. Her passing leaves a space in the hearts of her family, but also a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will never fade.
Evelyn was the loving wife of Kenneth Coleman for 62 wonderful years, a partnership that began with young love and grew into a lifetime of unwavering commitment. She was the devoted mother of Andreea (Brian) Mollette and Shane (Sarah) Coleman; cherished grandmother of Jacob Mollette, Amanda Mollette, Brianna Mollette, Andrew Coleman, Nicholas Coleman, Lauren (Devin) Kozak, Savannah Plachcinski, and Avery Plachcinski; and proud great-grandmother of Mikaela and Carson. She was the dear sister of Vicki (Jerry) Price; sister-in-law of Donald (Kathy) Coleman; and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished dog, Mimi, her faithful companion.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Evelyn was the daughter of Richard and Mary (née Hochard) Murray. She met the love of her life, Ken, in high school, and the two were married during a snowstorm on Groundhog Day—a story she loved to share. Together they built their life in Michigan, where they raised their family and created a home filled with warmth and faith.
Evelyn worked as a media aide for the Pontiac School District, retiring in 1994 to help care for her grandson—a role she embraced with all her heart. Family was always her greatest priority and joy.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of The Boulevard Church since 1965, Evelyn faithfully served by playing the piano for 40 years. Sitting at the beautiful baby grand, she shared her gift of music as an act of worship, touching countless lives through her quiet dedication.
Evelyn took great pride in her home and yard, lovingly tending to her flowers and plants and creating a welcoming place for family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and many adorable quirks that made those around her smile and love her even more. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness, strength, and steady presence shaped her family in lasting ways.
Evelyn will be remembered for her deep faith, her gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully.
