Eric Engblom Obituary

Eric Paul Engblom passed away February 3, 2025 at 10:11am surrounded by his loved ones. Eric was born December 1, 1977 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Eric was a devoted Christian and believed strongly in his salvation through Jesus Christ. There is nothing Eric loved more than God and his family. He never missed a sporting event and never said no to playing catch. His children hit the jackpot having him as a father.

Eric graduated from Oakland University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science. He began his career as an Engineering Business Analyst at GKN on May 6th, 1999. He worked at GKN for 22 years. From there he worked at Acumed for 4 years. Eric was able to provide for his family until his last breath.

If you knew Eric, you loved Eric. He would burst at the seams with witty comments. He was a sports fanatic and especially loved Michigan football. GO BLUE!!! Eric was a huge collector of baseball cards and could rattle off the stats of any baseball player at any given time. His perfect vacation included visiting different baseball parks with his family. Eric also took pride in coaching Little League baseball for over 15 years. He touched the heart of every child he coached.

Eric was preceded in death by his father Eric Albert Engblom. He leaves behind his mother Cheryl Engblom; his loving wife of 15 years, Kara Engblom (married July 11th, 2009); his brother Keith (Kelley) Engblom; his sister Erin (Joe) Engblom; his four sons Jacob (18), Nicklaus (18), Easton (13), and Beckett (8); the mother of Jacob and Nicklaus, Alison Tackett (Drew); 1 niece and 4 nephews. We are all confident Eric is in heaven now living an eternal life with Jesus Christ and it is only goodbye for now, until we meet again. A celebration of life will be held February 26, 2025 at 10:00 am with services following at 11:00 am at Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Road in Troy, Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.
