Elinor Lorraine Ball

Elinor Lorraine Ball, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. Elinor was born on March 1, 1934, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Vinton E. Ball and Mary Lucinda Ball (née Wood).  Elinor worked on the assembly line at General Motors for 26.4 years, remaining dedicated and hardworking until her retirement. She was also an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary in Waterford for many years. In her free time, Elinor enjoyed gardening, quilting, working on puzzles, and playing cards—especially euchre, which she loved. She was an avid collector of holiday Barbie dolls and took great joy in adding to her collection over the years. Elinor dearly loved her family and had a special affection for children. In her earlier years, she frequently babysat whenever she could, always happy to lend a helping hand and share her warmth and care. She is survived by her siblings, Gary Ball and Jeanette Gallaspey; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Coats Funeral Home – Waterford, located at 3141 Sashabaw. Family will receive guests beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Elinor will be laid to rest immediately following the service at White Chapel Cemetery.
