Dorothy Jane Davidson, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Dorothy was born in Pontiac, MI, to the late Julius Scherbing and the late Bernice Scherbing (nee Newlon).
Dorothy lived a full and vibrant life in Waterford, MI, where she shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, David Davidson. Together, they built a loving family, which Dorothy cherished deeply. She is survived by her children, Wendy Davidson (Jeff Busch) and Michael (Carrie) Davidson; as well as her grandchildren, Hunter and Kaylee; and great grandbaby, Oaklynn. Preceded in death by her brothers, the late Donald Scherbing and the late Irwin Scherbing.
Beyond her family, Dorothy had an undeniable love for her pups, who were an important part of her life, and she was often found surrounded by her furry companions.
A fixture in the Waterford community, Dorothy was a dedicated team member at Aco Hardware Store for over 40 years. She was known to many as the friendly, helpful face of the store, and her reputation as the “Aco friend” extended beyond the walls of the business. Whether on vacation or a weekend trip up north with family, Dorothy’s warm personality and kindness touched the hearts of all those she met. She loved chatting with both old friends and new acquaintances, and her genuine care for others left a lasting impact on those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Coats Funeral Home, located at 3141 Sashabaw Road, Waterford, Michigan from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held the next day, April 4, 2025 at 11:00am, with an hour of visitation before from 10:00am – 11:00am. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on April 4, 2025 at 12:30pm.
