Donald Ernest Haase

HAASE, DONALD E. SR. surrounded by his loving family, passed away March 16, 2025 at 92 years of age. Loving husband of the late Mary Ann (nѐe Wolenter) for 68 years; dear father of Donald E. (Ingrid) Haase, Jr., Gregory A. (Sheryl) Haase, and Douglas K. (April) Haase; grandfather of Donnie III (Sherri), Melanie (Chris), Christina, Melinda (Jairus), Gregory Jr., Jenny, Nicole, Dana, Ashley (Eric), Brennan (Mandy), Taelor (Emily), and Kylee; great grandfather of 20 with one on the way; preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Marie (nee Lepak) and siblings, Charlotte Johnson and Richard Haase. Don was a veteran of the US Army-Korea and had a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, master’s in automotive, and a master’s in business administration. He was a plant manager for Chrysler and retired in 1991 after 29 years of service. A dedicated husband and great father and when he was not caring for his family, Don enjoyed fishing; cruising; following the stock market; and time at Houghton Lake. A great basketball player as a young man, Don opted to work in automotive than the NBA as there was more opportunity in automotive to support a family at that time. As a dedicated husband, Don was a selfless caregiver for his beloved wife Mary Ann. As head of a large and loving family, he will be forever loved and missed. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 11:30 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. Family will receive friends Wednesday 10:30 AM until time of service. Interment follows at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly with military honors.
