Donald Green, beloved father, grandfather, brother, friend, and mountain man, passed away January 30, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 20, 1947, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Charles and Marian Green, Don was raised in Ferndale where he became a cherished figure known for his warmth and kindness. His generosity and willingness to connect with others defined his life, as he could often be found sharing a laugh or an encouraging word with anyone he met. He was a friend to all and made those around him feel seen and valued. Don's life was marked by his many passions and achievements. A true outdoorsman, he was actively involved in the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club and took great pride in his skill as an archer, even earning the title of Archery State Champion. His athletic talents extended beyond the field, as he was also a Golden Gloves boxing champion. In addition, Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, where his warrior spirit brought honor. A lover of woodworking, Don spent countless hours crafting beautiful pieces, a reflection of his precision, creativity, and dedication. Whether creating a new project or lending a helping hand to others, Don’s work was always a labor of love. Those who knew him will remember Don not only for his many accomplishments but also for his genuine spirit, his infectious sense of humor, and his boundless motivation to live life fully. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa (Brett) Edwards; his adoring grandchildren, Donald and Lillian; his brothers, Charlie (Tina) Green, Davey (Janet) Green, and Bob (Lynne) Green; best friends Carl, Linda, and Craig; his special friend, Sue. His many nieces, nephews, and cousins hold Don’s love in their hearts. Donald’s legacy of kindness, motivation, and generosity will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation will be held at Coats Funeral Home in Waterford on February 8, 2025 from 10:00-1:00 PM with memorial services following at 1:00 PM.
