WOODWARD, DAVID C. of Waterford, MI went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2024 at 72 years of age. Loving husband of Linda (née Woelkers) for 51 years; dear father of April (Brad) VanBuskirk of Waterford, David (Kacey) Woodward of Almont; beloved brother of Robert (Rae) Woodward of FL, Steven (Rebecca) Woodward of Waterford, and Linda Brashear of FL; he was the proud Pa to Jayce (fiancée Kaitlyn) VanBuskirk, Jacob VanBuskirk, and Luke Woodward. He is also survived by 11 brothers and sisters in law; 36 nieces and nephews; 34 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nieces and nephews; and lots of cousins. He was Pops to some, Grandpa to others, Mr. Dave, or Uncle Dave to many others he added to his life. A true “friend” to all. David Charles Woodward was born on October 15, 1951 in Detroit, MI to Margaret (née Schontz) and Ronald Woodward. He was 1969 graduate of Waterford Kettering High School where he marched in the Kettering Marching Band. He attended Evangel College, Oakland Community College (OCC), and IBEW Apprentice program and would own and operate Dave’s Electric. He married his college sweetheart Linda on June 23, 1973 on the OCC Highland Lakes Campus where they met and they would share 51 wonderful years together raising two beautiful children. David dedicated 50 years of his life to his career in the electrical industry. His skills and dedication to his work were a testament to his character and commitment. Outside of work, David was an avid hunter, adventurer, and sportsmen, as well as, enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, golfing, racquetball, and karate. Always up for cards and games with family and friends. He was involved with his church and shared his love of God with each and every person he met. He was a child of the most high God, joint heirs with Jesus, and filled with the Holy Spirit. He so wanted everyone he met to know the love of His Savior and to join him for eternity in Heaven. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11 AM at First Missionary Church of Clarkston, 4832 Clintonville Rd., Clarkston. Pastor Matt Mendenhall officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday 10 AM until time of service. Luncheon will follow at the church. Memorials may be made to First Missionary Church. Arrangements entrusted to COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.
