FRASER, CHRISTINE MARY, age 69, of Waterford, passed away September 15, 2021. She was born on June 21, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter to the late Dr. Donald E. and Kathlyn M. Fraser (nee Schachern). Loving sister of Jean (Michael) Detmer, the late Michael D. Fraser and the late Margaret Ann Morrow, also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Christine worked as a teacher for the Waterford School district for many years. Christine was involved in the CNS Visions Clubhouse in every way she could be. She was one of the editors of the Visions Voice. She helped create the Daily Dish and then the later amended Weekly Dish. Christine used her past teaching experience to tutor members to help enrich their knowledge and skills. She was also very involved in the Clubhouse Michigan Coalition and the CNS Healthcare Citizen’s Advisory Council, where she represented herself and her Clubhouse colleagues. She could often be heard saying, “Well, you know…..” when she was preparing to present an opposing opinion. Advocacy was one of Christine’s strong points and she used every opportunity she could to advocate on behalf of Clubhouse members and the mental health community. Christine attended Walk a Mile Rallies in Lansing, speaking on behalf of those people who are struggling with mental health issues. Her eloquent words often served to illustrate the worries and needs of her friends and colleagues, and she will be missed immensely. She was a wonderful friend and colleague. In her spare time, she was an avid reader who also enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, 10:30 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 80 S. Lynn Street, Waterford. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary service at 7:00 pm. Inurnment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
