Charley Howard Gee
August 31, 1950 – May 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charley Howard Gee, who passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 75.
Charley proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service and sacrifice will always be remembered and honored. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors.
Charley was a man who experienced many chapters throughout his life and leaves behind family members who loved him and will continue carrying his memory forward. He is survived by his daughters, Shelby Gee-Horn, Katherine Hill-Haneline, Kathleen Gee-Young, and Mary Beth Gee-Ortwein; his grandchildren, Zayden Horn, Noah Haneline, Sydney Young, Andrew Young, and Ethan Ortwein; his siblings, Irene Gee-Howe, Richard Gee, Judy Gee-Frazier, and Peggy Gee-Karpovich; along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Coleman-Gee and Charles Gee, as well as his brother, Patrick Gee.
A private military honors service will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. The family is also planning a memorial gathering at a later date where loved ones can come together to celebrate Charley’s life, share memories, and honor the impact he had on those around him.
