Carolyn Sue (Pickett) Campbell, 78, of Auburn Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024. She was born on November 28, 1945, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Elmer and Rose (Hornack) Pickett.
Carolyn was a dedicated member of her Condo Association's Board of Directors for 30 years, always striving to serve her community. Even during illness, she continued to plan for upcoming meetings, exemplifying her unwavering commitment and sense of duty.
Family was the cornerstone of Carolyn’s life. She was an incredible mother and grandmother, deeply involved in her grandson Victor’s life, whom she loved as a second son. She cherished time spent camping with her family, especially in Florida, creating lasting memories with Victor. One of Carolyn’s favorite adventures was a family road trip from Michigan to California, exploring sights across the northern United States.
Carolyn had a special love for animals, particularly her guinea pigs, which she doted on throughout her life. Recently, her adventurous spirit was matched by her camping companion, Max the cat, who joined her on many trips.
Known for her infectious laugh and vibrant personality, Carolyn loved shopping, dancing, and sharing joyful moments with loved ones. Holidays were made extra special by her famous sweet potatoes, a tradition her family will always treasure. She also enjoyed spirited family game nights, with Catch Phrase being a favorite.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Ray Campbell; her son, Bobby Pickett; her cherished grandson, Victor Garcia; her beloved sister, Linda (Dan) Gosley; her precious goddaughter, Emily Berkobien; and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Rose Pickett, and her brother, Robert Pickett.
