CRAVEN, CAROLYN LEE (née Mackley), age 75, of Clarkston, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and caregiver at heart. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and remarkable capacity for acceptance, meeting everyone in her life with kindness and an open heart. Carolyn had a quiet way of making others feel supported, seen, and deeply loved—often through small, steady acts of care that spoke volumes. She valued friendship and connection and showed up consistently for the people she loved. Caring for others was not simply something she did; it was who she was.
Carolyn shared that her greatest ambition was to be a mom—she believed true success and happiness was found in loving and nurturing others. For her, fulfillment came from investing her heart into her family, celebrating their joys, supporting them through challenges, and cherishing each moment along the way. Each of her children was deeply treasured, and motherhood, as well as devoted wife and partner remained her proudest and most meaningful role.
She also had a deep love for her Dachshunds and shared her life with many over the years. They brought her joy, companionship, and comfort, and she returned that love fully, treating each one as a cherished member of the family.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, David Craven; her children, Eric Craven (Jesse Moore) and Courtney Craven (Anne Pidek); and all those whose lives were enriched by her compassion, steadiness, and unwavering love.
Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the countless ways she made the world kinder simply by being in it.
