Carol Warren Obituary

Warren, Carol Ann (nee Pizak) of Waterford, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at 82 years of age.

Beloved and cherished wife of Arthur Warren Jr. for 55 years. Dear mother of Arthur (Misty) Warren, Katharine Warren, and Jacqueline (Matt) Garren. Proud grandmother of Kegan, Andrew, A.J., and Joey. Sister of the late Andrew (the late Chris) Pizak.

Born in Detroit, Carol Ann was the beloved daughter of Andrew and Anna (née Smrtka) Pizak. From an early age, Carol Ann was known for her intelligence, curiosity, and playful nature. She studied at the University of Detroit-Mercy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear physics—an impressive accomplishment that spoke to her sharp intellect and passion for understanding the world around her. In fact, her children were surprised to learn as teenagers that their fun-loving, silly mother was actually and could have been a nuclear physicist, a discovery that gave them an even greater appreciation for the many dimensions of the woman they called Mom.

It was during her working years that Carol Ann met the love of her life, Arthur. On his very first day of work, he was assigned a desk directly in front of hers. What began as a chance seating arrangement soon became a lifelong love story. The two married just two years later and went on to share 55 wonderful years of marriage with 3 children.

Carol Ann had a remarkable ability to make mundane tasks fun and entertaining for her children. She was fun, engaging, and wonderfully silly, never afraid to laugh at herself or to join in imaginative play. Some of her children’s most treasured memories are of spending hours crafting at the kitchen table or gathering around the stove while Carol Ann pretended to cook whimsical concoctions with their stuffed animals as ingredients.

She found happiness in simple pleasures and in time spent with those she loved most. Carol Ann enjoyed reading and could often be found immersed in a good romance book. She also had a soft spot for gossip magazines, appreciating the lighter side of entertainment and always enjoying a good story. Bowling leagues brought many happy memories with friends, as did camping trips where the family could spend time together. She was an active participant in her children’s scouting groups and Catechism. At home, Carol Ann delighted in feeding the wildlife in her yard, finding quiet joy in watching the birds and animals that visited – except the chipmunks.

Carol Ann devoted herself to their home and raising their family... Once their children were grown, Arthur’s work took the couple, as well as Carol Ann’s mother, to Hawaii for a couple of years, and they embraced the opportunity. It was a special chapter in their lives—one filled with beautiful scenery, shared experiences, and cherished visits from their children and friends, making the distance feel much smaller.

Carol Ann’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the countless small ways she made others feel loved. She was selfless in her actions. Her kindness, intelligence, humor, and pure silliness made her unforgettable. She was deeply loved by her family, and there are simply not enough words to fully capture the joy she brought to their lives.

Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the children she raised, and the playful nature for which she was known. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always.
