Carl Hammond

Carlyle "Carl” Hammond, of Waterford, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2024, at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; sister, Lois (Everett Bruner) Lotridge; and nine children, Rick (Heather) Hammond, Russ (Cheryl) Hammond, Carol (Bill) Criss, Elaine (Eddie) Spivey, Kristie (Josh) Luther, Sarah (Will) Hammond, Matthew Johnson, Mark (Caitlyn) Johnson, and Shannon (Enrique) Paredes-Orta. He dearly loved all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayland and Sara Hammond; stepmother, Lawayne Hammond; and his sister, Edna (Dave) Bowman.  

Carl worked for General Motors for 45 years. He loved to stay busy, never wanting to sit still for a very long. He was always fixing something, wanting to take care of everything. He loved nature and spending time outdoors. He was always concerned for his family, loving to play with all of his grandchildren.  

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carl’s life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Road, Waterford, MI 48329. Visitation will be held from 10:00am – 1:00pm, with a celebration of life service to immediately follow beginning at 1:00pm. Pastor Jim Stolt will be officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Praise Community Church, 45000 N. Territorial Road., Plymouth, MI 48170.
