Bonnie Marie (White) Desotell

Bonnie Marie Desotell, born February 18, 1935, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Bonnie lived a long, beautiful life defined by devotion, warmth, and the joy she found in bringing people together. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrelle, whom she met on New Year’s Eve in 1950 at the Waterford Rolladium—an encounter that began a lifetime of partnership. They married on January 19, 1952, and shared fifty loving years until his passing on September 19, 2002. She was also preceded by her children Joseph and Sharon, her grandson Mathew, her parents Quilly and Adele, and siblings Larry, Barbara, Sally, Pat, Leroy, and Cynthia. She is survived by her brother Buddy and his wife Linda, her son Bryan, and her grandchildren Alanna (Michael), Jasson, Helena (Joshua), and Katey. Bonnie’s legacy continues through her great‑grandchildren Ehrin, Paige, Addison, Avah, Amaya, and Rosie, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Family was the center of Bonnie’s world. Her sisters were her closest friends, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She delighted in hosting holiday gatherings—especially Thanksgiving—where the entire family would come together under her roof. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and tradition. One of Bonnie and Darrelle’s greatest joys was traveling “up north” to their property in Mio, Michigan, beginning in 1957. It became Bonnie’s favorite place—a haven where family and friends gathered, shared stories, and made memories that will last for generations. Even in 2025, she managed to make six trips to the place that meant so much to her. Bonnie loved simply getting in the car and going for a ride. She and Darrelle often spent half the day exploring, discovering new restaurants, revisiting favorite ones, attending their granddaughter’s horse shows, or stopping at out‑of‑town car shows. These spontaneous adventures were part of the rhythm of their life together. After retiring from Transign, Bonnie returned to work for a few years because she enjoyed staying busy and connecting with people. Her energy, kindness, and dedication were evident in everything she did. Bonnie lived for her family. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren—hosting sleepovers, sharing stories, and creating memories they will carry forever. In her later years, she found peace sitting on her swing, watching boats drift across the lake. Though she never learned to swim, she loved the water and treasured evening boat rides. Bonnie’s life was one of love, generosity, and togetherness. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she built, the memories she nurtured, and the family she adored.
