Betty Lucile Miller, age 99, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength that will continue to guide all who knew her.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Robert Gilbert Miller, Sr., with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in unwavering love, mutual respect, and a deep faith in God. Their union became the foundation of a beautiful and enduring family.
She was a devoted and loving mother to Connie (Jürgan) Kahl, Gil (Susan) Miller, Wayne (Sue) Miller, Patricia (Kevin) Kerin, and Janet (Andrew) Krause. Betty’s greatest joy was her family, and she took immense pride in her role as grandmother to 17 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 10, with one more precious blessing on the way.
In her early years, Betty served as a Nursing Cadet in the U.S. Government Cadet Nurse Corps. She completed her training at the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with the Class of 1947, and went on to serve as a nurse. Throughout her life, she carried that same spirit of compassion and care, always offering kindness, support, and a gentle presence to anyone in need.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Betty was a longtime member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church and later Community Presbyterian Church in Waterford, where she found fellowship and purpose. Her faith guided her life and was reflected in the love she gave so freely to others.
Betty will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, always ready with a warm smile and a welcoming heart. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially sharing time with her loved ones and indulging in her favorite treat, chocolate.
Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on through the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Coats Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to the service, also at Coats Funeral Home.
