Barbara Jean (Ray) Sellers

SELLERS, BARBARA JEAN, age 81, of Waterford passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. She was born on December 11, 1939 in Pontiac, MI to parents Bruce Ray and Victorine Ray (nee Vandagriff). Loving mother of Ronald Shier, Jeffery (Jenni) Shier, Gregory (Tracie) Shier, Rhonda (Mike) Padilla, Kimberly Eve, Shawn (Jennifer) Shier, and Timothy (Lauren) Sellers, and stepson Robert Sellers; proud sister of Michael Elliott. She was preceded in death by two children Baby Girl Shier, and Steven Shier; her mother Victorine Elliott; stepson Dennis H. Sellers, Jr.; daughter in law Marie Sanjuana Sellers; step father Howard (Victorine) Elliott; two brothers Jim (Donna) Ray and Howard Elliot, Jr.; as well as her husband of 40 wonderful years Dennis Sellers. Barbara was the grandmother of numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, Barbara worked for a few years at Morton Salt in Marysville, MI where she met Dennis. After they were married they moved to Florida where they both worked and retired from Sugar Cane Growers. Barbara and Dennis loved Florida where they resided for 33 years before Barb returned to Michigan. She and her husband Dennis loved dancing; she enjoyed sewing; spending time with her family, including numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and adored her two beautiful cats, Luna and Salem. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Memorial service Monday, August 1, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME-Waterford. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made on Barbara’s behalf to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
