Audrey Elizabeth Rieger

BORN:  December 13, 1927, in Baden, PA

DIED:  September 13, 2025, in Waterford, MI at 97 years of age. Audrey was born to Vena Boring on December 13, 1927.  Audrey was Vena’s only child.  Since Vena was only 15 years old, she was sent away to work and baby Audrey went to live with her grandmother, Ogella.  Ogella nursed Audrey along with Ogella’s change-of-life baby Trudi.  Eventually, Audrey was old enough to be sent away to board with a family in Ohio.  Audrey always referred to this foster Mom as “Mom Galbraith”.  Audrey stayed with the Galbraith’s until she was 13 years old.  Then Audrey went to live with her mother, Vena.  Unfortunately, the two clashed so Audrey went back to the Galbraith’s.  When Audrey was 15 years old, Vena got married and brought Audrey to live with her and her new husband Dominic “Tom” Vincenti, in Ferndale, Michigan.  Later, Audrey would go on to marry Albert Carl Rieger after he had returned from the European Theatre in WWII.  Audrey was mother to six:  Robert Carl, Jacqueline Jean, Geraldine Eileen, Pamela Sue, Thomas Charles, and Albert Michael.  Audrey was also grandmother to eight, and great great grandmother to four; also great great great grandmother to two.  Audrey was a lifelong homemaker and a natural nurturer.  She enjoyed her grandchildren as well as card playing (pinocle in particular) and bowling.  Each of her grandchildren remembers that special something they did with Grandma Audrey. 

Funeral services are at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Road, Waterford, MI  48329.  The viewing will be Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. and the Funeral Service at 1:00p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025.  She will be interred at Oakview Cemetery, laid to rest beside three of her children.
