LATIMER, ARTHUR D. “ART”, of Holly, formerly of Waterford, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at 90 years of age. Art was the loving husband of Thelma (née Meyers) for 46 years and a devoted family man whose quiet strength and faith guided his life.
He was the loving father of Craig (Tonja) Brown, Jennifer (Jeff) Chiesa, the late Kevin Bickford, and Monica (David) Klaus; cherished grandfather of Sarah (Brent), Shawna (Dan), Erik, Adam and Kayla (Seiya); and proud great-grandfather of Jayden. Art was the dear brother of Gary (Gloria) Latimer, Amber (Mike) Young and proceeded in death by siblings Donna Bundo and John (Joann) Latimer.
Art retired after more than 36 years of dedicated service at the GM Milford Proving Grounds, where he was respected for his work ethic, reliability, and integrity. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Art served his country—something he held with quiet honor throughout his life. A man of deep faith, Art was a devoted member of The Journey Church in Springfield Township. He was laid back, soft-spoken, observant, and thoughtful, leading not by words but by example. His life was truly his testimony, and he was an inspiration to those who knew him.
Art loved Jesus with all his heart and through Jesus he loved his family and country. Art found joy in the outdoors and simple pleasures. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time surrounded by nature. Whether quietly observing or sharing a moment with loved ones, he brought peace and steadiness wherever he went. Art will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the lasting example he set for generations of his family. A memorial service will be held with a luncheon following on Saturday, January 17th at 2:00 PM at The Journey Church, 11489 Rattalee Lake Rd, Springfield Township with Pastor Riggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Journey Church.
