Arleen Golden, 76, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. She was born on February 7, 1949, in Cheboygan, Michigan, to the late Francis and Isabell (Whitman) Stokes.
Arleen was a woman full of spunk, known for her quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any room. She had a generous heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Above all, she was devoted to her family, whom she considered her greatest joy in life.
In 1970, Arleen married the love of her life, Jimmy Golden, after meeting him while waitressing at a restaurant in Waterford. Jimmy would visit just to see her, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. For over 40 years, they enjoyed attending car shows, playing the slots at casinos, and creating cherished memories with their three children, Duane, Jeanette, and Sandra.
After Jimmy’s passing in 2011, Arleen found joy in going to “the dance” at the Rockin Country Music Round-Up, continuing her casino trips, and playing games on her phone, especially Candy Crush. She lived life with energy and enthusiasm, embracing every moment.
Arleen is survived by her loving children, Duane (Teresa) Stokes, Sandra (Jim) Yarbrough, and Jeanette (Steve) Golden; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Loucille, Faye, Barbara, and Debbie; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Golden, and her parents, Francis and Isabell Stokes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Officiating the services will be Pastor Martin Woody. The internment at Great Lakes National Cemetery will occur on a later date.
Arleen’s vibrant spirit and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
