Anthony John Tomczyk

TOMCZYK, ANTHONY “TONY” JOHN, age 82 of Davisburg, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at home. He was born on May 18, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to parents Antoni and Stella Tomczyk. Tony was the youngest of seven children born to Polish immigrants and graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1957. Tony enjoyed a long and successful career at General Motors as a tool and die engineer. He was loving, intelligent, loyal and a man of faith. He enjoyed visiting his property Up North and in earlier years, restoring cars. More than anything, Tony was proud to be blessed with two wonderful families that he loved spending his time with. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Angela; his children: Sharon (Daniel) Baker, Barbara (Eric) Peterson, Diane (Richard) Simpson, Patrick (Amanda) Rakus, Andria (Roger) Dowie, Sean (Candice) Rakus; siblings: Stanley Tomczyk, Helen Vanwoerkom and Genevive Harrington; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; Joe, Ted, and Tom Tomczyk. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church (5495 Dixie Hwy, Waterford, MI 48329) on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10am. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 3-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research in honor of Tony.
