Anna Dereniak Obituary

Anna Mae Dereniak (Collica) was born on February 6th 1938 in Detroit Michigan. Of Italian descent, she never objected to her kids calling her “Our Little Italian Mother”. School was not her thing. Her interests lie in Shopping on QVC, Shopping with her Daughter Catherine, Shopping at…well anywhere really. She loved to color, anything sweet, gooey and chocolatey, read, crochet, laugh, have deep talks at 7-11, be silly and watch a good suspenseful thriller. However, she would say her favorite thing of all was being with her children and grandson. As a mother she accomplished the role of house-wife, keeper, hospital runner, great listener, honest feedback, award for god -awful hamburger maker, and a referee She hated housework, however, she would tell you the key was to organize and keep to a schedule. Mom was where everyone went when upset, angry, confused, sad, lonely, guilty or just needed to chat about anything. That, being her greatest accomplishment! She succeeded in bonding with each one of her children, her grandson and sister in a unique, understanding and gentle way. She married Raymond Walter Dereniak Sr. on June 6th 1959 and lived most of their marriage in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She had 3 boys and one miracle baby girl. Steven, Raymond, James and Catherine. She also had a grandson, Jordan which gave grandma a special spark. She is survived by her sister, Rose Ann Miller, and with memories of all the sister chats and laughter they’ve had. She was reunited with her parents and Aunty Lizzy of natural causes on February 27th, 2024.  Interment at Resurrection Cemetery Friday, March 1st 1:00 pm.
