Angelina Cutean Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Angelina Romo Cutean (née Mendieta), who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 23, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born on May 18, 1949, Angelina was a woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She shared an extraordinary love story with her beloved husband, Nicholas Cutean, whom she married and cherished for 55 wonderful years. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, resilience, and countless treasured memories while raising their three children: Paul (Angela) Cutean, the late Nicholas Cutean II, and Stephanie (Michael) Caswell.

Angelina was a proud and devoted grandmother whose heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren: Jocelyn Mayer, Deaven Cutean, Kelsey Cutean, Alexandria Cutean, Isabella Cutean, and Tasia Little. She cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Raised in a large and loving family, Angelina shared a lifelong bond with her siblings: the late Robert Mendieta, the late Paul Mendieta, Linda Lawson, Olga Longrie, Delores Saiz, Virginia Tapia, Delia Pruett, Gloria Chrisman, Natalie Whitney, Pauline Mendieta, and Julia Mendieta. Family was always at the center of her life, and she treasured the many memories made together throughout the years.
Angelina found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She often spent afternoons thrift shopping in search of hidden treasures, enjoying a good poker game, or taking long car rides to her favorite places, including Mackinac Island and Gatlinburg, TN. She was fond of red cardinals and always felt there was something meaningful about seeing them. Most of all, Angelina loved being at home, caring for her family, and creating a warm and welcoming place where everyone felt loved.

She also deeply adored her faithful pug, Bugsy, and there is comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.

Those who knew Angelina will remember her gentle heart, her unwavering dedication to those she loved, and her appreciation for the simple moments that make life beautiful. She believed that her soul and those of her loved ones would return as butterflies. Whenever a butterfly crosses your path, may it serve as a reminder of her enduring spirit, her love, and the beautiful life she lived.

Angelina leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, devotion, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
