Albert Gustav Erickson, Jr., of Waterford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at the age of 92.
Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Erickson, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He was also preceded in death by his son, Alan Erickson, and his brother, David (Pat) Erickson.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Stephen Erickson and Debra (Steve) Sims; his cherished grandson, Michael Sims; and his brother, Edward (Thelma) Erickson.
Albert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and honor throughout his life. He was a faithful member of St. Stephen's Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
He found great joy in working with his hands and was a talented wood carver, creating pieces that reflected both his craftsmanship and patience. He loved tending his garden and looked forward to hunting trips out West, where he enjoyed the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of family and friends. These simple pleasures brought him lasting happiness and created treasured memories for those who shared them with him.
Albert will be remembered for his gentle spirit, strong work ethic, deep love for his family, and the quiet example he set through a life of service, faith, and dedication.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD from 11:00-1:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM with the burial following at Ottawa Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Albert's memory.
Albert's legacy lives on in the family he loved, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
