McCARTHY, ZORA MADELYNE, age 77 of Waterford, passed away on January 4, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1946 in Hamtramck, Michigan, daughter to the late parents Joseph and Zora (Rudelich) Zdunic. Devoted mother to John (Kate) McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy and Michael McCarthy and her beloved dogs, Shelby and Gracie; supportive aunt to her family and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Patrick McCarthy, and siblings: Ana Zdunic and Nicholas Zudnic. Zora was a loving and dedicated mother to her three boys. She loved watching them play football and made many lifelong friends through Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School sports. She was also an avid Spartans fan – Go Green! Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 4-8pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD, and again on Wednesday at church, one half hour before mass, beginning at 9:30am. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
