Obituary

Wyatt Anthony Immell, 23, passed away on October 11, 2026, leaving behind a world that is a little quieter, a little less bright, and forever changed by his absence. Wyatt was the kind of person who brought a smile wherever he went, a genuine soul with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a love for life that was contagious. He had a way of making people laugh, making his friends feel like family, and showing up for the people he loved.

Wyatt was born on April 24, 2003, to Shelly (Steve) Petrusha and the late Mike Immell. He grew up alongside his brother, Justin Immell, with whom he shared a bond that went far beyond brotherhood. Justin was Wyatt’s very best friend, his lifelong partner in crime, and one of the most important people in his world. Together with Stacy Immell, the three shared a bond all their own. Living under the same roof, they became a tight-knit trio who were always finding their next adventure, making memories, and getting into a little bit of everything together. The three of them were inseparable in their own way, sharing a closeness that was built on laughter, loyalty, and countless everyday moments that became a lifetime of memories.

Wyatt graduated from Lapeer High School in 2021 and went on to spend his days doing what he loved most: enjoying life, spending time with his people, and chasing the things that made him happy.

If there was one thing that could capture Wyatt’s spirit, it was his love for cars. He was a car guy through and through, with a particular love for his BMW and Nissan 350Z. He took pride in customizing his cars himself, always finding something new to work on, improve, or make his own. A proud member of MMDC (Mid-Michigan Drift Club), Wyatt found a community of people who shared his passion for cars, speed, and the thrill of drifting. Whether he was trading tips and tricks with friends, working on his cars, or simply enjoying time with his fellow car enthusiasts, Wyatt was right where he wanted to be.

But as much as Wyatt loved his cars, what mattered most to him was the people in his life. He was always looking for a good time with his pals, always ready to laugh, joke around, and make memories. He was the kind of friend you could learn from, share your excitement with, and count on when you needed a hand. Wyatt was genuine, kind, loving, and silly, with a happy-go-lucky spirit and a smile that seemed to come naturally. He had a gift for making people laugh, often when they needed it most, and he wanted the people around him to be happy. He was a helper by nature, someone who would show up for his people without hesitation. He didn’t need a reason to be there for someone; if you mattered to Wyatt, he wanted you to know it.

Wyatt cherished the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved spending quality time with his mom, sharing moments that she will hold close to her heart forever. He enjoyed fishing, loved his cat, Meowy, and treasured time with his family and friends. He especially valued the adventures and everyday moments shared with Justin and Stacy, the people who were part of his home, his routines, and so many of the memories that made his life uniquely his own. He didn’t have to do anything extraordinary to make a moment special. Sometimes, it was just being together, laughing at something silly, talking about cars, heading off on another adventure, or enjoying another day with the people he loved. Those everyday moments, which may have seemed so ordinary at the time, are now among the memories his loved ones will treasure most.

Wyatt was a son, a brother, a grandson, a friend, and so much more to the people fortunate enough to know him. He was a good person with a big heart, a true friend who wanted to make life better for the people around him. His kindness, humor, loyalty, and easygoing nature left an impression that cannot be measured by the number of years he lived. He will be remembered in the sound of laughter shared among friends, in the roar of an engine, in stories told about the adventures he had, and in the countless little things that bring him to mind. For Justin and Stacy, his absence will be felt not only in the loss of someone they loved, but in the countless familiar moments that will never be quite the same without their third musketeer. The adventures they shared, the laughter that filled their home, and the bond the three of them built will always be a part of Wyatt’s story. His absence will be felt in ways words cannot fully express, but so will the love he leaves behind.

Wyatt will be deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Shelly and Steve Petrusha; his beloved brother and best friend, Justin Immell, and Stacy Immell, his cherished third amigo in their lifelong trio; his grandparents, Duane and Denice Dudas; his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends; and all those whose lives were made brighter simply because Wyatt was part of them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael James Immell, and his paternal grandparents, James and Diane Immell.

Visitation for Wyatt will be held at Coats Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A funeral service celebrating Wyatt’s life will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider making a donation toward restoring Wyatt’s drift car in his honor.
