VORNDAM, WILLIAM JOSEPH, age 77, of Waterford, formerly of Allen Park, passed away February 1, 2023. He was born on August 28, 1945, in Highland Park, Michigan, son to the late Clarence and Emma Vorndam (nee Guitar). Loving husband of the late Linda Balog for 22 years; dear father of Marie (Kevin Brachear) Vorndam; proud grandfather of Zackery (Kayleigh Smith) Garcia, Wayne (Nicole Herman) Brachear and Lauren (Tyler Ruiz) Brachear; great grandfather of Garrett and Cameron; brother of Edna Lang, Ronald (Judy) Vorndam and the late Melvin Vorndam. William was a proud veteran serving his country in the United States Army. William worked for Detroit Diesel for 42 years. He was an active member of the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, sailing and visiting the many lighthouses in Michigan. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, 12:00 Noon at Coats Funeral Home, Waterford. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Inurnment Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial donations in William's name may be made to the Boy Scouts Sea Explorers.
