STOKES, WILLIAM CECIL, age 94, of Waterford, passed away January 4, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1926 in Pontiac, Michigan, son of the late Clayton and Leona Stokes (nee Campbell). Loving father of Bill (Nancy) Stokes and the late Sally Stokes; proud grandfather of David, Michele (Malcolm), Bryan and Michael; great grandfather of Kayla, Dacota and Avery; dear brother of Beverly (the late Al) Rigney, Richard (Tootie) Stokes and the late JoAnne Hendershot. William worked for the Oakland County Sheriff for many years and then went on to work for Waterford Township, where he retired as chief of police in 1985. A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
