William J. Faris, 63 of Waterford, passed away after a long fight with cancer.  William passed at his home on the 5th of February 2023.  William (Bill to his close friends and family) was born in Pontiac, on February 11, 1959, to his parents, Donald and Betty Faris.  William joined the Army in 1979 and was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY.  Following tours in Korea and the Sinai Desert, William would be stationed in Hawaii, where he would meet and marry his wife Linnea Nicholson-Faris in 1982.  The family would welcome a son, Eric, and later a daughter Jennifer.  After his service ended, and receiving an Honorable discharge from the Army, William and the family returned to Michigan.

William was preceded in passing by his mother and father Betty and Donald Faris, and a younger brother Donald.  William is survived by his wife Linnea, his daughter Jennifer, his son Eric and Eric's wife Rachel, William's sister Donnette and his brother Douglas and his wife Kimberly.  William is also survived by his granddaughter Phoenix, her husband Caleb and their son Gene (William's great grandson).  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and other close family and friends.

William was a private man and as such, did not want a formal service of any type and so the family will not be holding any formal services.  However, at a date yet to be determined, there will be a non-formal Celebration of Life at one of the local outside venues.  The family will announce those details as they become available.
