William Steven
Dobreff
Jun 10, 1957 — Jan 2, 2025
William Steven Dobreff, known affectionately as "Bill" passed away early Wednesday, January 2nd, 2025, in his Waterford Michigan home with his loving wife Austin by his side. Bill came into this world on June 10, 1957, to Barbara and Edward Dobreff. He was born and raised in Harrison Township MI and graduated Valedictorian from L'Anse Creuse Central High School class of 1975. Bill loved all sports and was a competitive tennis and football player. He later graduated with honors from Oakland University and went on to pursue a career in Law at the Detroit College of Law. After graduating he joined his father's law practice in 1980 forming Dobreff & Dobreff. Bill was a highly respected litigator serving his clients for over 40 years throughout the state of Michigan.
In 1991, Bill married the love of his life, Austin Rea in Grosse Pointe and was happily married for 33 years. When not practicing law, Bill's passion consisted of dancing and boating on Lake Oakland with his beautiful wife, playing tennis and fly fishing. He actively supported Austin in all of her endeavors including most recently becoming a pilot. He lived life on his own terms full of wisdom, passion and kindness, which is what made him who he was - Bill Dobreff.
Bill's memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife of 33 years, Austin; his five brothers, Michael, Richard, James, Steven & David, and his angelic sister Nancy, as well as many loving sisters-in law, brothers-in-law; Derrick Rea, Michael Rea, Steve Elias, and Chuck Hubner; nieces and nephews. William Steven Dobreff will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, Uncle and dear friend to many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends he loved and cherished, and the thousands of clients he impacted throughout his life.
