DEMICK, WANDA, of Waterford, passed away December 2, 2020. Born in Nevis, Minnesota on September 4, 1940 to the late John and Marie Potter (nee Haulf); beloved wife of the late William Demick for 47 wonderful years until his passing in 2007; cherished mother of Jim (Donna) Weaver, Cynthia (Mark) Butler, Catherine Welch (Steve Barquist) , Tracy (Tom) Lewandowski, and preceded in death by son Billy Demick; proud grandmother of Carl Weaver, Corbin (Britney) Weaver, Mike (Lexie) Weaver, Melissa (Jason) Johnston, Amber (Dennis) Hyek, Krysta Butler (Joe Rodriguez) , Jessica (Michael) Stroud, Debra Demick (Joe Cockfield.) , Ashley Welch, Lindsey Tarrant, Branden Welch, Shawna Barquist (Rich Johnson) Tom MacFarlane, Trevor Lewandowski, Tanner Lewandowski, and great grandmother to 18; dearest sister of David; preceded in death by siblings Ronald, Geraldine, Caroline, Richard, and Jerome. In high school Wanda traveled the country roller skating and won the state championship title in California in the 1950's. She met the love of her life William and doted on him since the day they married on January 16, 1960. Wanda managed Pasquale's restaurant in Royal Oak for over 40 years. She had an insatiable desire for sweets and by the looks of her petite frame you would not believe that her nickname was "Snack Queen". Her favorite snack was plain potato chips, especially Michigan's Better Made brand. Her and her family would meet at the FarmHouse in Lapeer for breakfast almost every morning. She was a kind and friendly person who was well known in the neighborhood. Her and William frequently traveled too North Carolina and would bring back oranges and grapefruits, and rocks from everywhere they visited to the family. The family will miss her home-made cherry ice cream, snickerdoodle cookies, and her "hot fruit crap". She adored her great grandchildren and would spend hours watching the Christmas Hallmark channel all year around with them. Every family get together, Wanda enjoyed playing softball with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family friends and her cherished cat "Comhere". A memorial service will take place at a later date.
