It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda Ann Cousens announces her passing in Clarkston on August 23, 2010 at the age of 94. She had been a long time resident of Bloomfield and West Bloomfield Townships and was currently residing at Sunrise of Clarkston Assisted Living. Her husband, Edmund, predeceased her on March 9, 1993. Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her children, James (Deborah) Cousens of Clarkston, Linda Brakke of West Bloomfield, and Jacquelyn Gatewood of Portland, Oregon. She will also be fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren, Graham (Danica) Cousens of Boston, Massachusetts, Bradley Cousens of Chicago, Illinois, Lucy Cousens of Clarkston, Michigan, Christian Brakke of Huntsville, Alabama, Eric (Mary) Brakke of Milford, Michigan, Mark and Cary Gatewood of Portland, Oregon, and Matt (Jen) Gatewood of Birmingham, Michigan, and her great grandchildren, Kyle and Katie Brakke, Eric and Zack Brakke, and Ethan, Emma, Abbie, and Thomas Gatewood, Benjamin and Allyson Gatewood. Wanda was born in Detroit in 1916 to immigrant parents and later graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class.
