WHEELER, VIVIAN MAE of Ortonville, MI, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2022 at 99 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Edgar Girard Wheeler; loving mother of James Michael (the late Jean) Wheeler, Trudy Arlene (Dan) Hamel, Thomas Richard Wheeler, Mary Anne (Joseph) Lordon, Janet Lynne (Jeff) Basinger, David Edward Wheeler, and the late Edgar Larry Wheeler; grandmother of 15; great grandmother of 19; great great grandmother of 5; sister of Betty Lou Ann; preceded in death by siblings Gladys June, Leo Merle, John Gerald, and Mary Lee. Born in 1922 in Detroit to parents Leo James and Gladys Esther (nee McAuley) Willsie. Raised in Detroit, Vivian and her family belonged to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where her father was an elder and minister. Vivian and Edgar raised their family in Royal Oak and Ortonville, and Vivian continued to be a devoted and lifelong member of Community of Christ. She and Edgar were also active members of the Motor City Bird Club. Vivian devoted her life to helping others. She loved her family, her church, her animals, her books, her home, her old photos, and her friends. She loved to cook, read the paper and church books, and travel. She loved to laugh. Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
