SLABINSKI, VIRGINIA ANN, of Waterford, passed away August 8, 2020 at 84 years of age. Born on October 14, 1935 in Waterford, Michigan, daughter of the late Glenn Robert and Bertha Mae Hickson (nee Hooks); beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Slabinski for 58 wonderful years; loving mother of Douglas (Patricia) Slabinski, Teri (Michael) Donaldson and Robert W. (Susan) Slabinski; proud grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 7; dearest sister of Richard (Judy) Hickson. Virginia met Stan for the first time at Ted's restaurant on Woodward Avenue in 1954 and they married later that year. More than anything, Virginia's heart was her family and her hundreds of "grandchildren" she raised in her in home daycare. She was a woman of great faith and would attend Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church in Waterford. She enjoys sewing, reading and gardening. The family would like to thank Lourdes Senior Community for the loving care given to both Virginia and Stanley.A private service will be held for the immediate family due to Covid-19 restrictions. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
