Obituary

YEZBICK, VIRGINIA F. of Waterford, passed away December 4, 2019. Loving wife of the late George; cherished mother of George Jr. (the late Jeanne) Yezbick, Patrick (Kathy) Yezbick, Maureen Hackett, Michael (Pamela) Yezbick, Jerry (the late Marlene) Yezbick, and Barbara (Mike Donnelly) McCarter; grandmother of 17; great grandmother of 16; sister of Mary Butler. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 5 siblings.Virginia lived for 97 amazing years. She was a lifelong superior athlete - medaling many times over in the Senior Olympics and outperforming people younger than herself when she was the sole representative left in her age group. She was a lover of Ireland, baker of goods, knitter of sweaters, scarves, and other useful things made with love.Entertainer of fabulous parties, she was a world class includer. She believed in hearty laughs, great conversations, good books, good jokes, and Catholicism as a path to heaven.Writer of letters, teller of stories, and the best of listeners, she developed a patience borne of endless hours spent in the engagement of children, and was well known for her "children's joke laugh". (Tee hee hee). Blessings will be hers for the hours she logged listening to knock-knock jokes.A multi-tasker, independent, fierce, strong and loyal, she understood that education was the path to all good things and that family love and belonging was a priority. She held the roles of mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, daughter, wife, aunt, friend and person who cares - to so very many. She was loved widely and will be missed deeply.
