Obituary

"See You When You Get Here"

Victor L. DeMino III, 77, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away on July 18, 2024. He was born on May 15, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Victor DeMino, Jr., and Roberta (Barber) DeMino.

Victor graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1964 and began working for General Motors. In 1966, he was drafted into the Army and served with the Tank Battalion in Germany, where he earned recognition as a Marksman and a Sharpshooter. His proudest achievement during his service was driving the Company Commander. After being honorably discharged in 1968, Victor returned to GM, where he worked for 41 years until his retirement in 2006.

Victor had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing. He cherished fly-in trips to Canada with friends for week-long fishing excursions. Though he enjoyed hunting with friends, he often remarked that he couldn't bring himself to take the life of an animal and was there mainly for the company. Victor was also an avid woodworker, often found tinkering with his vast collection of tools. His friends and family knew him as an engineer at heart.

Those who knew Victor would describe him as having an endless sense of humor and a big personality. He enjoyed helping others and was known for his meticulous nature. Everything had to be measured perfectly in Victor's world. When building projects with his brother-in-law, Robert, he would always note if a measurement was even an eighth of an inch off. At Thanksgiving, he would ensure that the pie was divided into equal pieces with a tape measure.

Victor is survived by his sister, Allison DeMino, and brother-in-law, Robert Cullen; half-sisters, Michelle Peters and Deborah Roz; half-brother, Mark DeMino; aunts, Margaret Jones, Valerie Morgan, Marion Battele, and Laurie DeMino; uncle, Ralph DeMino; nieces, Tami (Edward) Powell and Lora (Steve) DeMino Zielinsky; nephew, Marc (Kelly) Zielinsky; and many beloved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Roberta DeMino; grandparents, Ken (Kate) Barber and Victor (Anna Grace) DeMino; and aunt, Ruth Kieffer.
