Obituary

Vera Lorraine Hahn, age 78, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Born on June 5, 1948, in Pontiac, Michigan, Vera was the beloved daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Stoner.

Vera was raised alongside her loving siblings, Larry (JoAnn) Stoner and the late Elaine (Ron) Hambleton. Family, including many nieces and nephews, remained an important part of her life, and she cherished the memories they created together over the years.

In 1976, Vera married the love of her life, Douglas Hahn. Together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage before Doug's passing in 2016. Their life together was built on love, friendship, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to one another.

Those who knew Vera will always remember her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and playful spirit. She had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, whether through a clever joke, gentle teasing, or simply being delightfully silly. Vera was truly a friend to everyone she met, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Vera found joy in life's simple pleasures. She adored her beloved cat, Gizmo, looked forward to spending time up north, enjoyed bowling, and watching her Detroit Tigers. She was a devoted member of St. Trinity Lutheran Church and found comfort and community through her faith.

In her final months, as she faced increasing health challenges, Vera was deeply grateful for the unwavering love and devotion of Jay (Kathy) Neville, her niece Shawn, and her nephew Alan.

Among the many friendships she treasured, Vera was especially grateful for her more than 10-year friendship with Lucy, whose companionship brought her great happiness and comfort.

Though she will be deeply missed, Vera's laughter, generous heart, and joyful spirit will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

A funeral service honoring Vera's life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 12:00 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. Family and friends are invited together for visitation beginning at 10:30 AM.

Vera's family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Doug, her parents, and all those who went before her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
