LETCHWORTH, VELMA NELL, age 69 of Lapeer, passed away on December 5, 2022. She was born on February 14, 1953 in Pontiac to the late Archie D. and Amy (Marchbanks) Wood. She graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. Velma was an avid crafter and excelled in crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She also enjoyed watching old television shows and movies. Velma is survived by her children: Paulette Creek and Jonathan Rose; siblings: Anita (Bob Creek) Wood, Archie "Neil" (Tamra) Wood, Allen (the late Beth) Wood, and Lona Wood; grandchildren: Christopher (Chelsea) Rose, Chelsea (Donald) Zacherias, Bailey Gross, and Austin Salcido; great grandchildren: Danny, Raelynn, and Alexander. She was preceded in death by daughter, Jeanette Schott; granddaughter, Alecia Doss. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. Interment to follow at Perry Mount Park Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to American Lung Association in honor of Velma.
