SIMMONS, TYRONE "TY" of Clarkston, passed away unexpectedly September 24, 2021 at 60 years of age. Loving partner and companion of Cathy for 37 years and husband of 29 years; dear father of Jared Simmons; brother of Mel Simmons and the late Barbara Simmons; brother in law of Nancy and Doug Phend; uncle of Dakotah (Chloe) Phend; lifelong friend of Carlos (Connie) Elliott. Preceded in death by his mother Devern Simmons, father Robert L. Harris, and in laws David and Ruth Barclay. Ty recently retired from AT&T after 32 years of service. He had a passion for anything to do with music and even had a music studio in his home. He was an avid reader and enjoyed guitars, computers, online gaming, photography, home projects, and a fascination for all things in space. His family circle was small, close, and loving and his circle of friends lifelong. His place in this world will never be replaced. A memorial service will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 4 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Highway, Clarkston. Family will receive friends Wednesday 1 PM until time of service.
