Obituary

MOORHOUS ,THEODORE I. SR."TED" of Waterford, passed away Wednesday May 13, 2020 at 95 years of age. Born on April 16, 1925 in Ecorse, Michigan, the son to the late Harvey and Dorothea Moorhous. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Mary Moorhous and 17 years to the late Lavina Etkke; loving father of Ted (partner Dan McKinney) Moorhous, Janet (Rick) McClellan, Mark Moorhous, Mike (the late Debbie) Moorhous and the late Laurie (Bill) Proulx- McDowell; proud grandfather of 8, great grandfather of 13 and great great grandfather of 6; dearest brother of Betty Johnson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Ted graduated from the Flint School for the Deaf. After high school he went on to work at Fisher Body where he retired after 35 years of service. He loved to golf and travel and in his early years was active in Golden Gloves. He also volunteered for 33 years at the Waterford Senior Center, helping with the deaf or whatever capacity he could. Ted would light up a room with his fun loving, caring, and larger than life personality. He loved his family and friends and of course his sports having 3 TV's going at once. He will be forever missed by everyone he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held as soon as we can all safely get back together. Memorial donations may be made to the National Association of the Deaf. Arrangements entrusted to COATS FUNERAL HOME - WATERFORD.
