MARTIN, SYDNEY MARIE, age 15 of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born on May 23, 2008 in Troy, Michigan to parents Michael and Heather (Van Dyke) Martin. Sydney was a student at Waterford Mott High School. She was clever and intelligent; determined and a fighter. She was a beautiful girl who cared compassionately for her family, friends, and loved all animals. Sydney was very artistic, and she loved painting. She will be remembered for her warm smile and kind heart. Sydney is survived by her parents, Michael and Heather Martin; brother, Jacob Martin; grandparents: Linda Wool (the late Terry Wool), the late Gloria Martin, Earle Van Dyke; aunts and uncles: Eric (Cida) Van Dyke, Don (Carole) Van Dyke, Tracy (Sam) Erkonen, and Arthur (Alice) Van Dyke; and the love of her life, Gavin Johnson. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4-8pm. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan.
