Beloved husband of 39 years to Kimberly Ann Spiris (Herner); cherished father of Alicia (Aric) Petker of Clarkston and Jonathan (Megan) Spiris of Boston, MA; proud and loving grandfather of Lila Petker, Jessica Petker and Ashley Petker; dearest brother of John (Kathy) Spiris, Cathy (Alex) Imlay of Mount Pleasant, Peter Spiris of Texas, sister-in-law Kathy (Terry) McClain and sister-in-law Kay (Steve) Ross and mother-in-law Rita ; Uncle to very special nieces and nephews; cherished by several aunts, uncles and an awesome bunch of cousins, friends and neighbors; preceded in death by father John, mother Betty and father-in-law Bill Herner.Prior to retirement, Steve worked as a foreman for Barton Malow Company. He was an active member of St. Danielrsquo;s Church, Knights of Columbus and Clarkston Eagles. He did a lot of volunteer work for his church and community. His most recent projectassion was Drewrsquo;s Home which provides spiritual community residence for individuals with disabilities. Steve enjoyed his 'Buddy Time' which included his Monday coffee groups at Neimanrsquo;s, Wednesday lunch and golf outings and Monday night poker. Most importantly, Steve made time for his loving family and friends who meant so much to him. " /
