Steven Michael Newman, age 42, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 – 4:30 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Clarkston Eagles, 5640 Maybe Rd., Clarkston, MI 48346.

Steven was born on September 11, 1980, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Jack Donald Newman and Chari Lynne (Lee) Newman. A graduate of Brandon High School in Ortonville, the Class of 1999; he was a member of the school's football team. Upon his graduation, Steven drove limousines for Lad Vas Limousine Company for several years before he began working at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac as a Lab Technician. In his spare time, Steven loved to cook, he was the first to initiate shenanigans with his family and friends and enjoyed bowling. Steven had a profound sense of direction and was very social and motivated. Steven never met a stranger; you would surely become fast friends. Anyone who had known Steven could easily tell you that he had a huge heart. He had a passion for those in need; Steve's biggest passion was being Santa Claus to spread Christmas Cheer to everyone including all the foster children he collected toys for during the Christmas Season., Steve enjoyed reading every letter from each child that dropped in his Santa mailboxes he would distribute at the Ennis Center for Children in Flint, Mi. He had a passion for serving others and it brought him boundless joy to see smiles on the children's faces.

His family meant the world to him, his son, Derrick and his bride, Amy were his "true north" a wise man once said: the most important thing in the world is family and love.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Amy Elizabeth (Glascock) Newman; his amazing son, Derrick Michael Newman; parents, Jack (Andrea) Newman and Chari Newman; in-laws, Joni (Doug) Guenther and David Glascock; his Loving Grandmother Ruth Lee and his step-siblings: Jason (Crystal) Ward, Patrick (Trisha) Ward, and Katy (Alec) Sanger; uncles: Mark (Carey) Lee, Norman (Lori) Lee: special great uncle Jim; Godparents: Penney & George Cutean; many aunts, uncles, and numerous extended family members, friends and colleagues; Steven is also survived by his Pitbull, Clinton.

Steven was loved by so many and will be missed deeply by those impacted by his life and mourning his passing.
