GRAVILLA, STEVEN R. of Waterford, passed away on September 9, 2026, at 66 years of age. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to Russell G. and Sally (née Griesbach) Gravilla. Steven was the brother of Nancy (Ron) Dahlberg and Sherry Littlejohn, and preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Gravilla; cherished uncle of Jennifer Dahlberg and Ross (Chelsea) Dahlberg; and proud great-uncle of Kase, Rory, and Cole.

Steven was a 1977 graduate of Clarkston High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force and later worked as a data entry technician for Comerica Bank. He was a quiet, kindhearted man who found happiness in simple pleasures, especially when those pleasures included family, good conversation, a friendly game, or the opportunity to learn something new.

Steven enjoyed spending time with his family and could always find a reason to sit down for a game. Shooting pool and playing euchre were among his favorite pastimes, and he especially enjoyed Ticket to Ride. He was also an avid rock and mineral collector, fascinated by the unique specimens he found and collected over the years.

If you knew Steven, you also knew that he loved his computer—but the computer certainly wasn't going to keep him from talking! Steven loved conversation and was always ready to share what he knew. And he didn't believe in giving you just a little information when he could give you the whole story—and perhaps a little more. He had a wealth of knowledge and genuinely enjoyed sharing it with anyone willing to listen.

Behind Steven's quiet nature was a generous heart. He believed in helping others without needing recognition for it. For several years, he quietly gave back to his community by collecting and distributing bread from local bakeries to people experiencing homelessness. It was simply something he did because he cared, and he asked for nothing in return.

Steven will be remembered for his intelligence, his curiosity, his love of family, his many interests, and his willingness to share both his knowledge and his time. He found joy in games, collecting, conversation, and the people around him, but his legacy may be best reflected in the quiet acts of kindness he performed for those who needed a helping hand.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss his stories, his conversations, his sense of curiosity, and all the little things that made Steven uniquely himself. His memory will live on in the family he cherished, the friends who knew him, and the many people he helped along the way—often without them ever knowing just how much he cared. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11 AM Community Presbyterian Church, 3401 Sashabaw Road, Waterford and burial Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston with military honors.
