12px;"of Waterford, passed away at Cranberry Park Memory Care, Clio, MI on January 17, 2017 at 104 years of age, surrounded by family and devoted care givers. Steve was born in Detroit in 1912. His younger years were spent in Birmingham where his parents owned a grocery store. Later he and his family, including 2 sisters, moved to Waterford. He survived the great flu epidemic and the depression. He hired into Fisher Body, Pontiac, as a tool and die maker and would later serve in a supervisory capacity until his retirement in 1976. He married his sweetheart, Janis M. Baum in 1937. She preceded him in death in 1967. Also preceding him in death were his parents Steve and Velma White; sisters, Viola Mestach and Irene Perry; son in law Edward LaDouceur, as well as long time friend, Maxine Anderson. He is survived by daughters, Kathleen LaDouceur, Lake Orion, and Sandra (Gerald) Bradow, Clio. Mr. White leaves behind 3 grandchildren and spouses; 9 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A self-made man, Steve was known as a hard worker, a practical joker, and a model train enthusiast. While living in Waterford, until age 101, he enjoyed his home, church (Union Lake Baptist) and spent many hours with friends at his favorite senior center in White Lake.
