GARTEN, SHIRLEY J. of Waterford, passed away December 26, 2022 at 84 years of age. Loving wife of the late Carl Garten, Sr.; cherished mother of Carl "Sonny" (Geri) Garten, Jr., John (Sabrina) Garten, Tina (Greg) Weishaar, Jamie Garten, David Garten, and Terry (Thaea) Garten; grandmother of Amber (Adam), Alicia (Matt), Fredrick (Rachael), Dominic, Tony (Andrea), Christie (Nick), Devin, Rebecca (David), James, Keith (Hannah), David (Cassie), Shana, and with one on the way; great grandmother of 16 with two on the way; and great great grandmother to one on the way; sister of Geneva Enerson, Carolyn Overton, the late Orville "Buzz" Overton, and the late Roger Overton. Shirley was a seamstress by trade for over 65 years. She enjoyed playing bingo; the casino; traveling; crafts; and baking. She'll be fondly remembered for her Cracker Barrel sweatshirts, the love she had for her grandbabies and the care she took of her brood of "boys" and her only daughter. Her family will miss taking her out to dinner and breakfast, even if she had already eaten. Her love for her family will be dearly missed. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12 noon at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.   Family will receive friends Saturday 10 AM until time of service.
