MATTHEWS, SARAH BETH, age 43 of Auburn Hills, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1977 in Pontiac to parents Thomas and Maureen (O'Toole) Shiplett. Sarah enjoyed her job as a cook at Randall Residence of Auburn Hills where she was loved by many of the staff and residents. She loved to travel – whether it was a short road trip or a visit to the ocean. More than anything, Sarah cherished spending time with her family and friends. Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Maureen (David) Shiplett; wife of four years, LaTonya Matthews; children: Kailey Merritt, Adam (Chelsea) Merritt, and Matthew Kroesing; siblings: Nicole Chevalier and Rebecca (Andre) Garrison; nephews and nieces: Tyler, Austin (Briana), Grace, Nevaeh, Margaret, Ameliah, Seven, Craig, and Shania; best friend, Melissa "Pink" Gowatch; many close friends, aunts, uncles, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Shiplett. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 1:00-7:00 PM at the American Legion #143 (96 Churchill Rd., Auburn Hills).
