MACKEY (WALTERS), SANDRA, of Clarkston, formally of Corryton, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the age of 69, peacefully in the care of hospice and with loved ones by her side. Born October 17, 1952 to the late Knox and Evelyn Mackey, Sandy grew up sharing her time with family in Michigan and Tennessee. Sandy "Da" loved her family more than anything, including spending time with her sister and brother-in-law, June and Tommy Scott, and enjoyed sharing stories and memories with them, especially stories of her children and grandchildren. Sandy is preceded in death by two of her children, Melissa and Daniel. Sandy was steadfast in her faith and through her grief she found strength in her surviving daughter, Katie and grandchildren: Christopher, Samantha, Alexis, Lucas, and Oliver. She enjoyed a warm cup of coffee, working in the yard during warm summer days, quiet moments with a book and hearing the laughs of her children and grandchildren (also a Snickers or two). She took utmost pride in raising her children, always making sure she was there whenever they needed her. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 12:30pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:30am until 12:30pm. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery followed by a wake at Clarkston Eagles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
