VERNIER, RUTH A. (nee Sayles) of Clarkston, passed away May 16, 2022 at 67 years of age. Dear wife of James for 44 years; dear mother of Kathy (Michael Franklin) Vernier; step mother of Jimmy (Catherine) Vernier, Roger Vernier, Michelle (Scott) Fader, and Pam (F.C.) Dobbs; grandmother of 9; great grandmother of several; loving daughter of Pearl and the late Donald Sayles; sister of Barbara Cox and Bonnie Sayles-Mann; preceded in death by siblings Joan Childress, Cindy Hockenberry, and Donald Sayles. Ruth was a hardworking and loving daughter, wife, and mother. She always had a job and eventually had her own small business as a caregiver for elderly, Ruth Vernier Home Services. She enjoyed gardening; home decorating; coloring with gel pens; and naming and feeding the squirrels their favorite Cheerios. She will be remembered for parties she enjoyed hosting; grilling on the deck and someone who took great care of her family. She will be forever loved and missed. Funeral service will be Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11 AM at  COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON. Burial follows Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. Family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM.
