Obituary

Ronald Harsch of Clarkston, Michigan passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 78. Born on November 6, 1947 in Omer, Michigan to Jean and William Harsch. He is preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Sharon Carter. Ron is survived by his only remaining sibling, Darlene (Dave) Bleicher, his loving wife, children and grandchildren. Ron was the beloved husband of Vicky. They spent 51 beautiful years together. He was a devoted father to his children, Joshua (Ann) Harsch, Jennifer (Mike) Beadner, and William Harsch. He was a loving grandfather to Claire, Jonathan, Samuel Harsch and Olivia, Abraham, Noah, Eowyn, and Phoebe Beadner. Nothing was more important than playing with his grandchildren. He never got tired of pushing a swing or playing in the sandbox or even playing "My Little Pony vs the dinosaurs". Ron was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, his life was filled with love, service and faith. He held many responsibilities in the church but it was the Boy Scouting Program that he enjoyed the most for over 20 years. He liked to say, "if scouting isn't fun you're not doing it right". He was known for his hard work ethic. From the time he was a young boy he spent every summer with his grandparents. Working side by side with his grandpa plowing fields and taking care of the cow. Even at the age of 72, he would climb the ladder to check the chimney and roof, while the neighbors looked on in horror. He loved his country and during the Vietnam War he enlisted and served in the Marine Corps for 4 years. Every morning proudly displayed the American flag and every night he reverently brought it in. He had a quiet strength that came from his devotion to his family, love for his country and reverence to God. Visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5464 Waterford Road, Clarkston on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
